BaFin announced an extension of BAIT with a module for Critical Infrastructures

On Sept 14th, 2018 BaFin has published without a consultation phase a supplement to the Banking Supervision Requirements for IT (BAIT) with a module on Critical Infrastructures in Finance and Insurance, which was established in coordination with the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). The new module addresses companies that are operators of Critical Infrastructures according to the BSI Kritis Regulation. In particular, this measure is intended to coordinate the existing "double supervision" by the BSI and the BaFin.

BaFin announces an extension of BAIT with a module for Critical Infrastructures

On 03.08.2018 BaFin has published that it will shortly supplement the Banking Supervision Requirements for IT (BAIT) with a module on Critical Infrastructures in Finance and Insurance, for which it is currently working on in coordination with the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI ). The module will be addressed to companies that are operators of Critical Infrastructures according to the BSI Kritis Regulation.

FMC enables a Quick Risk Assessment for the successful implementation of the 5th MaRisk amendment & the BAIT

With the 5th amendment to the "Minimum Requirements for Risk Management" (MaRisk), BaFin implements changes and clarifications to the regulatory regulation of risk management. The focus is on the aggregation of risk data and risk reporting, the handling of IT risks, individual data processing, the handling of outsourcing and the integration of measures for payment difficulties of the debtor ("forbearance") into the risk management and credit processes and the concretization of the risk culture.
